On 09/15/25 at approximately 10:00 PM, a 2004 Utah Coleman pop-up camper was stolen from a residence on Hickory Grove Road in Echols County.
Description:
• White with black lettering
• Distinctive stickers that read “Not all who wander are lost” and one on the door that reads “Life was made for great adventures”
• Possibly bearing Georgia Tag - TL9JD06

🚨 CAPTURED 🚨
🚨Arrest Made in connection with Echols County Home Invasion / Armed Robbery 🚨
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Echols County Sheriff’s Office
Sheriff Randy Courson states that at approximately 7:51 a.m., he, along with deputies from the Echols County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marshals Service, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia State Patrol K-9 units, and the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office, responded to 259 Holmes Road in Homerville, Georgia, after receiving credible information that wanted fugitive Cameron Williams was inside the residence.
Several individuals, including the homeowner, were safely extracted from the home. After being removed, the homeowner gave consent to search the residence.
Law enforcement officers gave numerous commands to Williams over the PA system, instructing him to exit the residence and surrender peacefully.
After approximately an hour and a half of non-compliance from Williams, and the deployment of chemical agents and flash bangs being deployed into the residence, the United States Marshals Service made entry. Williams was ultimately located hiding in a closet, concealed behind plastic totes and under a pile of clothes.
Williams was taken into custody and treated by medics on scene for injuries sustained during the arrest. He also received further medical treatment at the local hospital and was medically cleared and transported to the Lowndes County Jail, where he faces multiple felony charges, including:
• 6 counts of Felony Armed Robbery
• 9 counts of Felony Aggravated Assault
• 8 counts of Felony Kidnapping
• 1 count of 1st Degree Felony Home Invasion
• 1 count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
This case remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests may be forthcoming.
Sheriff Courson would like to thank all of the agencies involved in bringing this wanted and dangerous fugitive from justice into custody.

The Echols County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), has made another arrest in connection with the July 7, 2025 home invasion, armed robbery, and kidnapping at a migrant housing camp off Highway 129 South.
ARRESTED:
Quinterius Neloms, 22, of Valdosta, GA.
Neloms is charged with:
• 6 counts of Felony Armed Robbery
• 9 counts of Felony Aggravated Assault
• 8 counts of Felony Kidnapping
• 1 count of 1st Degree Felony Home Invasion
• 1 count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
In addition, Neloms, Jeremiah Gilbert, and Cameron Williams now face additional charges of Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

🚨 HOME INVASION & ARMED ROBBERY – PUBLIC ASSISTANCE NEEDED 🚨
The Echols County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a home invasion and armed robbery that occurred early this morning in the 1700 block of Highway 129 South, at a migrant work camp.
The incident involved four masked, Black males, armed with a rifle and several pistols, and wearing body armor. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene and possibly crossed into Florida. The nine alleged victims were then able to contact 911 for help.
We are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or has any information to please contact Investigator Lt. K. Lewis at 229-559-5603. Your tip—no matter how small—could be critical in solving this case.

UPDATE: Further investigation revealed by the results from the crime lab, the substance that field tested positive on the roadside for Fentanyl came back as a non narcotic and charges of Trafficking Fentanyl for both John Jackson and Emily Paulk were dismissed. Jackson still faces misdemeanor charges.
Sheriff Courson states that on June 20, 2025, at approximately 12:39 a.m., deputies with the Echols County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Sullivan Lane near Highway 135 North for traffic violations. During the stop, deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and deputies located approximately 25 grams of suspected fentanyl pills—which field-tested positive—and an ounce of marijuana.
The driver, John Jackson, 25, of Lakeland, was arrested and charged with:
• Felony Trafficking Fentanyl
• Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana
• Misdemeanor Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign
• Misdemeanor Failure to Maintain Lane
The passenger, Emily Paulk, 18, also of Lakeland, was arrested and charged with:
• Felony Trafficking Fentanyl
Both individuals were transported to the Lowndes County Jail. This case remains under investigation.g

Sheriff Courson states that on May 30, 2025, deputies with the Echols County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 129 South that resulted in the arrest of Antonio Norwood, 33, of Douglas. During the stop, Norwood was found to be in possession of approximately half a pound of marijuana, two firearms, and $2,252 in cash. A criminal history check revealed that Norwood has a lengthy record, including multiple felony convictions. He was transported to the Lowndes County Jail, where he was booked on charges of Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. ... Sheriff Courson reports that on April 30, 2025, deputies responded to the 2900 block of Highway 135 North in reference to a domestic dispute. William Hamm, 17, of Lake Park, was identified as the offender.
Hamm allegedly initiated a verbal altercation with his mother and siblings over his phone being taken away. The situation escalated and became physical, during which Hamm reportedly threatened to kill his mother.
Upon deputies’ arrival, Hamm fled on foot into a wooded area behind the residence. Corporal Lewis and his K9 partner, Nos, arrived on scene and initiated a track. K9 Nos successfully tracked Hamm approximately one mile into the woods, where he was located and taken into custody without incident after complying with deputies’ commands.
Hamm is facing multiple charges, including:
• Felony Terroristic Threats or Acts
• Battery (Family Violence) – Misdemeanor
• Two counts of Cruelty to Children in the 3rd Degree (Family Violence) – Misdemeanor
• Criminal Trespass – Misdemeanor
Sheriff Courson would like to recognize and thank the responding deputies and K9 Nos for their swift actions and professionalism, which led to the safe apprehension of the offender without incident.
